Customer story

When events stopped working on Wix, Tool School Co. was back up in under 48 hours.

How a Chicago DIY school moved its website and events to Gametime Hero without losing a week to a support queue.

The organizer

Tool School Co. teaches hands-on DIY classes for women and femme folks in Chicago. In the school's own words, it is a place to “learn home projects safely and confidently, without anyone talking down to you.” Founder Juliana Masci runs workshops, offerings, and bookable services, all from one website.

For a business like that, the website is the front door. If the events page is down, nobody can sign up for a class.

The problem

Tool School Co.'s site was built on Wix. Then the events stopped working.

“When my events stopped working on Wix, Gametime Hero had me up and running in less than 48 hours.”

It happens more often than you'd think

Juliana's experience isn't a one-off. Wix publishes its own incident history, and it shows how often something breaks for the people who depend on it.

  • 25

incidents posted on Wix's own status page between March 16 and October 1, 2026. That is close to one a week. [1]

  • 7

of those incidents were about live sites: not loading, loading slowly, or showing up with content missing. [1]

  • 6h 45m

from first report to resolution on September 7, 2026, when elements stopped appearing on some live sites. [1]

When something breaks, the next question is how long it takes to get help. On Wix's own community forum, site owners describe the wait:

  • When we create a (priority) ticket, it takes days to get a response, and the first response indicates that the responder either didn't read or didn't understand our problem.Wix forum member, November 2020 [2]
  • I have two pending tickets and not once in the last 1.5 years have I been given a resolution on time.Wix forum member, May 2021 [3]
  • I have a support case logged since Oct 14, 2024 … There is zero update.Wix forum member, writing ten days later [4]

To be fair: Wix runs a very large platform, most of these incidents were resolved the same day, and many customers are happy with it. These are individual reports, not an average. The point is that an organizer with a class to fill this weekend can't wait on a queue.

The switch

Juliana moved Tool School Co. to Gametime Hero, where the website, events, registration, and payments are one connected system instead of separate apps bolted together. In her words, she was up and running in less than 48 hours.
